In Moreno Schweikle's edition, we meet a rather unexpected guest in the midst of the exhibition Gripper 1 / Gripper 2.
Attracted by the endless stream of water running down the windows of BPA space, a humanoid-looking broom enters the exhibition, becoming both actor and spectator.
The cartoonish depiction of the broom - derived from Walt Disney's iconic 1940 cinematic adaptation of Goethe's “Der Zauberlehrling'' - contrasts the technical feel of Schweikle's installation. Embedded in a custom frame made of felt, the work is given an exceedingly warm appearance.
Upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that the environment is a digital clone of BPA's exhibition architecture. This 3D replica was used by Moreno Schweikle to plan his exhibition and now becomes stage for a special encounter:
In 12 unique scenes, we become the observer of a peculiar visitor entering the exhibition space, interacting with the installation and yet leaving again - feeling reminded of ourselves.
